ADC’s revitalisation of one of Perth’s most iconic heritage precincts will showcase best practice urban design and adaptive re-use to create a distinctive, vibrant residential community. Capitalising on the high profile setting and elevated location at the corner of Wellington and Bronte Streets, East Perth, the site’s topography has shaped a thoughtful stepped design approach, enabling sweeping views of the Swan River, City, Matagarup Bridge and Optus Stadium.
Interpreting the area’s rich, diverse cultural heritage, it is the state’s largest build-to-rent and student accommodation precinct. Precinct activation strategies include refurbishment and adaptive re-use of the state heritage-listed school building into a creative mixed-use space. The ultimate vision is to encourage more people, activity, and diversity to the City of Perth.
The Perth Girls School Precinct will feature:
- 500 build to rent and 1,960 student beds.
- Full line supermarket, cafés, commercial offices, art gallery and yoga studio space.
Revitalised former Perth Girls School heritage building including microbrewery, restaurants and cafés, creative industry offices, art gallery and performance spaces.
